And a little story about this trip…. I hit up my friend Collin about skiing and he invited me on this ski trip last minute with a group of guys and couple of their girlfriends… (
(Back story) I’ve had a lot going on in my life the three weeks prior to the trip and didn’t know what direction made sense in my mind I decided to go on the trip about 3 days before the trip… So I canceled my flight to California the day of my flight and stayed in Austin a few extra days and went strait from Texas to Colorado….
I hopped on a solo shuttle when I landed and took it to Keystone on a Snowy morning (thank God for the snow)… I arrived with 3 bags because I had been traveling with all my camera gear from the shoots prior… It was a bitch dragging it in the snow but I was not gonna complain about the storm I was so excited for!
Meanwhile I didn’t know anyone where I was staying besides Collin… And to be honest we barely knew each other! I checked in and met the crew at the cabin and the next day we met up with a handful of snowboarders (I was the only skier)… Usually I fit in really well with most people I’m around but this time I felt a little off! I knew I had 8 days ahead of me so I was going to make the best of it! That night I felt a change and a shift inside of me… I was comfortable and everyone that I met that first day on the mountain was beyond welcoming and I really felt included… The rest of the week ended up being the best snow trip of my life! The weather conditions were the best all year! And within a couple days I had not only made a handful of new friends but a whole house of old friends and soon to be friends arrived in Keystone! At one point we had close to 30 people riding down the mountain at one time! Now skip forward to today… 5 days after returning to California I’m feeling good!
The rest of the week ended up being the best snow trip of my life! The weather conditions were the best all year! And within a couple days I had not only made a handful of new friends but a whole house of old friends and soon to be friends arrived in Keystone! And I’m thankful for everyday I’ve had and everyday ahead… Life is crazy and we all get to experience it together! Now go out and make some memories!!!
